George Lucas was born in 1944 in Modesto, California. He revolutionized cinema with the creation of the "Star Wars" saga, beginning with "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" (1977). Originally intending to become a racecar driver, Lucas shifted his focus to filmmaking after a near-fatal car accident. He also directed "American Graffiti" (1973) and founded Lucasfilm, pioneering advancements in special effects and digital filmmaking. Lucas co-founded the animation studio Pixar, which he later sold to Steve Jobs.
