Stanley Kubrick

Stanley Kubrick was born in 1928 in New York City. Kubrick directed classics such as "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968), "A Clockwork Orange" (1971), and "The Shining" (1980). He was a skilled chess player and often played on the set of his films, having hustled for money in New York City chess clubs before his directing career took off. Kubrick moved to England in the early 1960s and made all his subsequent films there.
