This is how the story goes...

everlist.me was started for one simple reason; I could not find a good movie to watch.

Picture this; flop down on the couch, grab the remote, switch on the tv, start scrolling.. everything looks meh... 20 mins later start watching something I have seen before.

Many years ago I had a good friend, Wayne, that I’d watch movies with almost every Sunday night. We had the exact same taste. It was epic. He’d watch a movie, think it was great then tell me to watch it, which I would do, and yes it would be great. This pattern carried on for decades even after we both moved countries. During that time streaming services exploded, film content boomed, we became inundated with choice. But guess what, the content very often sucked, these “services” kept making horrid suggestions, “this weeks top picks” or some “because you like that you’ll like this” nonsense (all of it being their own content of course). The number of fails was getting out of hand.

There had to be a better way, I needed my Wayne back. In fact, I thought, everyone needs a Wayne!

I knew it could be done. I felt it must be done. I managed to get a bunch of close friends to give me a long long long list of all their favorite movies in order from their very favorite down. And guess what? When you matched each other up with someone who also liked what you liked the suggestions just rolled out in front of you like a big red carpet.

That was it, simple, clean. The journey had begun.
